Around the time I was 19, I realized I had barely any social skills. I was the quiet one at family gatherings, could barely look people in the eye and, above all, I felt imprisoned in social interactions.

So one day I found a friend called JC who was also interested in these things. He told me there was this young person who really did amazing things at his age. We were going to go to his apartment and learn something special from him. And so I went forth with a lot of open-mindedness.

There I learned about my environment, I learned about my significant other and about myself. After a lot of practice I realized I was free. I could talk to anyone I liked and maybe… even get a girlfriend.

What you’ll work on: four phases, three months

The phases are a guide, not a script. Everyone moves through them in their own way.

• Small group, on purpose. Nelson works with a small number of men at a time, with one-to-one sessions and group sessions.
• The freeze lives in your body. You know the moment: someone matters, and suddenly you’re rehearsing every sentence. Nelson says you can’t think your way out of that, so a big part of the work is physical.
• Real connection, not tricks. No clever openers, no push-pull games, no manipulation. He helps you build emotional intelligence first.
• Water and land. The name “Amphibian” comes from that balance: water stands for emotions, land for being grounded.

For two years now his method has also had a spiritual side. Nelson is a shamanic practitioner too, and he blends coaching with somatic and energetic work, adapted to each person and only for those who want it.
