God’s Eye View: a live 3D globe of Earth
God’s Eye View is a 3D globe of planet Earth that runs in a web browser and fills up with live public data. THE Librarian runs it at home to follow earthquakes, space launches, wind and planes all over the world. Watch the short demo below (1 minute 41 seconds, no sound).
What you see in the demo
- The 3D globe with Esri satellite imagery
- Earthquakes from the last 24 hours
- Space launches from the last 30 days
- Wind flow around the planet from the NOAA forecast
- More than 4,300 datacenters and the world’s dams on the map
- Searching for a city and flying straight to it
- Live planes over Dubai, from public ADS-B data (adsb.lol)
- Tilting the view, the visual styles (including thermal) and the OpenStreetMap map
